![]() Polymer Prices on the Rise in U.S. and Europe10:55 AM MST | January 30, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Polyolefins secured solid gains in both contract negotiations and in export markets on both sides of the Atlantic, players say. In January settlements, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) scored the biggest gains in North America, rising 7 cts/lb. Co-polymer polypropylene (PP) added 6 cts/lb, while homo-polymer gained 4 cts/lb. Low density PE managed just a gain of 2 cts/lb, market sources report. In Europe January contracts were quoted with more even gains: all types of polyolefins saw increases of €120-€140/m.t.
