![]() Olefins Prices On The Upswing12:00 PM MST | March 1, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Prices for North American spot olefins were mixed. Ethylene was lower by about 3 cts/lb, while propylene was unchanged. Butadiene, however, gained about 5 cts/lb. The increase in spot butadiene pricing is driving producers to nominate large increases for March contract settlements. Nominations have been heard at 25 cts/lb, 27 cts/lb, and 32 cts/lb. Among North American feedstocks, ethane rose about 10 cts/gal, while butane gained 6 cts/gal. Propane tacked on 3 cts/gal.
