October Polymer Contracts Fall in U.S.

In what market watchers are calling a tactical retreat, North American polymer producers accepted staggered reductions in October prices for all types of resin. In September producers had gone so far as to nominate increases for October, but dismal demand numbers across most end-use markets prompted buyers to withdraw. Low-density polyethylene was lower by 5 cts/lb, while high-density PE ticked lower by 3 cts/lb.
