![]() Intermediates Prices Mostly Higher10:21 AM MDT | September 1, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley It was a slow-moving month among intermediates, with August contract settlements only just being completed for isomer xylenes in time to begin September discussions. U.S. para-xylene was agreed higher by 7 cts/lb for August, while ortho- was done higher by 5.5 cts/lb. Producers of oX immediately nominated a further 5 cts/lb increase for September. In spot markets, U.S. pX gained $45/m.t. while European material gained saw producers ratchet bids higher by $70/m.t. while buyers only increased bids by $40/m.t.
