![]() Intermediates Markets Settle Lower for May7:59 AM MDT | May 24, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley After a furiously busy late April and early May, intermediates markets settled down for the rest of May. The two outstanding isomer xylenes contracts for May were reported to be settled a little lower, with U.S. para-xylene off 2 cts/lb and ortho-xylene lower by 3 cts/lb. In spot markets buyers prevailed with U.S. pX said to be lower by $100/m.t. and European prices off by $85/m.t. Acrylonitrile also spot prices lower on both sides of the Atlantic, down $200/m.t. in North America and $250/m.t. in Europe on weaker downstream demand...
