Aromatics Settle Mostly Higher in U.S. and Europe

The last of the major aromatics contracts were settled on either side of the Atlantic, with mixed xylenes in North America agreed lower by 8 cts/gal and the September barge price for styrene in northwest Europe concluded with a nominal gain of €6/m.t., sellers say. In spot markets, benzene was lower on the U.S. Gulf by 10 cts/gal, while spot toluene averaged a decline of 7.5 cts/gal in a widening trading range, traders report.
