Aromatics Prices Push Higher

Aromatics prices were generally higher in North America and lower in Europe, with the notable exception of styrene, where the pattern was reversed, traders note. Spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf gained 25 cts/gal, while toluene kept pace with a rise of 20 cts/gal. However, spot styrene slid another 3 cts/lb which started to open something of an arbitrage window with tidewater Europe, where spot styrene moved higher by an average of $15/m.t. in a widening trading range. At current rates traders say they can land U.S. styrene in Europe with slim margin of $50/m.t...
