Market watchers say it is unusual for styrene to rise without benzene leading the way, but in this case monomer and polymer markets in North America were said to be responding to sharp moves in Europe. Spot benzene zipped higher by $25/m.t. and spot styrene rose $20/m.t. Players say the market is finding its true level, after logistical problems in the autumn caused an unnatural spike in prices, followed by a sharp drop when supply resumed...
