![]() Aromatics Prices Mixed in U.S. and Europe9:54 AM MST | December 8, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics contracts were mostly settled by the first of the month, but the last few agreements were concluded this week. The December mixed-xylenes contract on the U.S. Gulf Coast was agreed to at a decrease of 13 cts/gal, buyers say. That brings it into line with prevailing spot numbers. Meanwhile spot benzene shot higher by 40 cts/gal putting it well ahead of contract levels. Spot toluene was reported higher by 15 cts/gal. Spot benzene in Europe also spiked, gaining $70/m.t.
