![]() Aromatics Prices Higher on U.S. Gulf Coast2:00 PM MDT | June 12, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Gulf Coast aromatics were a bright spot of the week for sellers, with spot benzene rising 40 cts/gal in response to unexpectedly strong demand, market sources say. Toluene and mixed xylenes were higher by a more modest margin of 15 cts/gal. Styrene was the lone loser for the week, shedding 2 cts/gal. Traders concede that June contracts are likely to be substantially lower, but discussions have yet to begin. In Europe spot benzene followed the trend higher, gaining $40/m.t., but the rest of the filed lagged. Toluene slid $20/m.t. and mixed xylenes eased back...
