Aromatics Prices Ease in U.S. and Europe

Spot aromatics were soft on both sides of the Atlantic, with one exception. Benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast saw buyer drop bids by 20 cts/gal with sellers countering with offers lower by 10 cts/gal. Spot toluene was more organized with a uniform decrease of 15 cts/gal, traders say. Mixed xylenes were the only gainers in the group, as sellers raised offers by 10 cts/gal while buyers were willing to increase bids by 5 cts/gal.
