Aromatics Prices Decline

Aromatics slumped, with greater declines repored in Europe than in North America. Spot benzene and mixed xylenes on the U.S. Gulf were actually said to be flat, while spot toluene dipped 15 cts/gal and styrene eased lower by 3 cts/lb, players say. In Europe however, the pattern was reversed, with benzene and styrene taking the biggest losses at $50/m.t. Spot toluene was off just $10/m.t. while mixed xylenes were down $20/m.t. traders report.
