![]() Aromatics Prices Continue to Climb1:20 PM MST | January 19, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics continued their winning ways, but not quite at the same pace as in the first few weeks of the year. On the U.S. Gulf both spot benzene and toluene gained 5 cts/gal. Players say the trading range for mixed xylenes tightened as buyers added 10 cts/gal to their bids, while sellers held steady on offers. The mixed xylenes contract, used as a benchmark for setting isomer prices, was agreed at an increase of 25 cts/gal. In Europe trading ranges fluctuated, with benzene narrowing on an average gain of $65/m.t. but toluene widening as buyers bet it was oversold...
