Aromatics Move Lower in U.S. and Europe

Aromatics on either side of the Atlantic moved in synch, with all spot markets reported lower except for mixed xylenes. They were said to hold steady as some good demand numbers were coming from isomer markets downstream. Spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf was lower by 20 cts/gal, players say, while toluene was off by 25 cts/gal. Styrene held to just a decline of 2 cts/lb. In Europe, benzene was said to have skidded $55/m.t. while toluene lost $40/m.t. Styrene also fell, losing $45/m.t. Methyl tert-butyl ether continued its volatility, skidding...
