No March contract settlements could be confirmed. On the U.S. Gulf Coast spot benzene and mixed xylenes were higher by 5 cts/gal, but styrene slipped 3 cts/lb and buying interest evaporated. Intial reports put the late-month styrene contract for Feburary higher by 6 cts/lb, but that could not be widely confirmed. Spot benzene in Europe slipped $15/m.t. while styrene was off by $20/m.t.
