![]() Aromatics Markets Mixed in U.S. and Europe12:42 PM MDT | June 24, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics markets were mixed, with U.S. prices generally higher and European numbers lower. Benchmark spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf rose by 5 cts/gal, while toluene was reported higher by an average of 7.5 cts/gal in a widening trading range. Mixed xylenes gained 10 cts/gal, traders say. The loss leader for the week was spot styrene, which came off 8 cts/lb. Across the pond spot benzene and styrene in Europe were said to be lower by €50/m.t., with spot toluene higher by €20/m.t. and mixed xylenes up by €10/m.t. The methanol market...
