![]() Aromatics Lower on Both Sides of Atlantic1:40 PM MDT | August 25, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics were uneven on both sides of the Atlantic. Benzene and toluene were said to be level in spot trading, while mixed xylenes added a healthy 25 cts/gal, players say. The ragged nature of the market was even more pronounced in Europe where spot benzene was reported to be lower by a considerable $75/m.t. Spot toluene was reported lower by just $20/m.t. while styrene stumbled $60/m.t. Methanol was sharply higher, with North American spot prices said to gain 15 cts/gal while European prices rose €30/m.t. traders say. Methyl tert-butyl ether slumped...
