Benchmark benzene slumped 68 cts/gal on the U.S. Gulf Coast for October, buyers report, while toluene was agreed lower by just 2 cts/gal. Late month styrene was agreed for September lower by 5 cts/lb players say. On the spot side, traders report that benzene lost 30 cts/gal, toluene was down 20 cts/gal, and even buoyant mixed xylenes dropped a dime. The story was similar in Europe, where the benzene contract was agreed for October at a decrease of €118/m.t., sources say, while styrene was settled...
