![]() Olefins Prices Mixed in U.S. and Europe8:07 AM MDT | August 22, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley North American feedstock prices were mixed, with ethane down about 2 cts/gal and propane down a penny. Butane gained about 4 cts/gal, and natural gasoline added 7 cts/gal. Both grades of propylene were down about 2 cts/lb, but spot ethylene gained 4 cts/lb. Spot butadiene, meanwhile, was lower by about 10 cts/lb. Spot naphtha in northwest Europe jumped $40/m.t. ahead of rising crude prices. But, for a change, olefins producers say they did not need leverage from feedstock to move spot numbers. Stronger demand for a range of derivatives drove spot ethylene...
