Polymers Prices On the Rise

Most of the attention in polymer markets was focused on Europe, where operating problems plagued no fewer than four different polyethylene (PE) operations around the continent. Market watchers said the outages muddled the market, tightening short-term supplies in what is a longer-term softening cycle. Low-density PE for May was higher by €50/m.t. while linear LDPE was up €150/m.t. and also by 3 cts/lb in North America.
