Polymer spot prices mixed, Europe contracts drop

Polymer markets divegred, players say, with spot and contract prices mixed in North America, while spot numbers held firm in Europe even as May contracts were sharply lower. In the United States, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for export were off $90 and $150/m.t., respectively, while copolymer polypropylene (PP) and general-purpose polystyrene (PS) were higher by $100/m.t.
