Polymer prices lower

Spot and export polymer prices were reported lower through mid-March, setting the stage for lower March contract prices. Already, polystyrene (PS) buyers are seeking a decrease of €50/m.t. ($69) in Europe. Export prices in Europe were off $100/m.t. for high-density polyethylene (HDPE), as well as all types of polypropylene (PP). Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear LDPE (LLDPE) were off $40/m.t. In North America, traders report more mixed developments, with LDPE and blow-molding HDPE down $90/m.t., while homopolymer PP tumbled $140/m.t. against...
