Mixed polymer markets for start of April

Polymer markets were mixed through the end of March and into April, players report. In North America, polyethylene (PE) was generally stronger in both export and contract trading, but polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS) were softer. In late-month March contract settlements, PE of all grades increased 2–3 cts/lb, and Dow put a 4 cts/lb increase on the table for May. PP was said to be lower by 4 cts/lb for March contracts, while PS slid 5 cts/lb. Linear low-density PE was said to be off $20/m.t., while high-density PE gained $40/m.t. for blow-molding...
