Volatility in markets cause price drops in petchems

Volatility was the rule as November settlements ranged widely higher and lower this week. Easing of feedstock prices in northwest Europe, as indicated by spot naphtha slipping $15/m.t. helped tip olefins prices lower. November ethylene was settled at a decrease of €15 ($19)/m.t., while propylene was agreed lower by €20/m.t. and butadiene was done down €60/m.t, producers say.
