Petchem prices mixed due to lack of trading from East Coast

Commodity petrochemicals were mixed this week in lackluster trading, as most of the East Coast was out of action for several days due to Hurricane Sandy. Spot naphtha ticked higher by $20/m.t. in northwest Europe. That, as well as higher than anticipated demand for polymers, gave a little boost to spot olefins, market watchers say.
