Olefins market quiet as summer begins

Summer doldrums seem to have come early to petrochemical markets on both sides of the Atlantic this week, as traders report US spot olefins quiet and level for the second week in a row. The same is said of European spot olefins, after a week of surprising gains. The uptick of $10/m.t. in spot naphtha is said to have helped producers justify the recent gains. Ethane spot US prices were up to 25 cts/gal fob, while propane spot prices were down to 86 cts/lb...
