Olefins Prices Mostly Lower

Petrochemical prices were lackluster in the third week of June. Ethane was stable at about 30 cts/gal. Butane tumbled about 10 cts/gal, to 94 cts/gal, while propane fell 4 cts/gal, to 80 cts/gal. Among U.S. spot olefins, ethylene was stable at about 45 cts/lb, while both grades of propylene moved 3 cts/lb upward. Butadiene, meanwhile, ticked lower by 11 cts/lb. In Europe, spot naphtha fell $15/m.t., but that was little help for steam cracker operators who saw spot prices for ethylene dribble away another €25/m.t.. Spot propylene declined €20/m.t....
