![]() Olefins Prices Firm in U.S. and Europe1:51 PM MDT | October 12, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Prices for feedstocks in North America firmed this week. Ethane gained about 3 cts/gal, propane gained a penny and tacked on 4 cts/gal. Butane, however, was lower by about 3 cts/gal. Among spot olefins, ethylene fell about a penny, as did PGP and CGP. Butadiene ticked lower by 3 cts/lb. With primary hydrocarbon prices temporarily stable, petrochemical prices were able to trade this week on their own market forces rather than feedstock concerns, players say.
