![]() Olefins Mixed in Mid-July1:43 PM MDT | July 20, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Spot olefins prices were mixed in both the U.S. and Europe this week. Spot ethylene rose about 5 cts/lb, to 60cts- 61 cts/lb, while both grades of propylene were lower by 2 cts/lb. Butadiene, which has constantly posted gains this quarter, finally saw some relief, as spot prices fell about 15 cts/lb, to $2.08/lb- $2.13/lb. On the contracts side, propylene fully settled at a decline of 4 cts/lb, butting PGP at 78 cts/lb and CGP at 76.5 cts/lb.
