Olefins Active Mid-Month, Players Say

 U.S. ethane prices surged after the fire at Enterprise's Mont Belvieu facility. Ethane gained about 10 cts/gal, up to about 72 cts/gal. Propane fell about a penny, while butane was up 4 cts/gal and naphtha was higher by about 2 cts/gal. Spot olefins were mostly up. Ethylene was pushed higher by about 2 cts/lb, to about 49 cts-50 cts/lb, on complications due to the Mont Belvieu incident, which shortened supply.
