![]() Olefins Active Mid-Month, Players Say12:21 PM MST | February 16, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley U.S. ethane prices surged after the fire at Enterprise's Mont Belvieu facility. Ethane gained about 10 cts/gal, up to about 72 cts/gal. Propane fell about a penny, while butane was up 4 cts/gal and naphtha was higher by about 2 cts/gal. Spot olefins were mostly up. Ethylene was pushed higher by about 2 cts/lb, to about 49 cts-50 cts/lb, on complications due to the Mont Belvieu incident, which shortened supply. Propylene was flat, while butadiene was higher by a penny. Spot naphtha in northwest Europe tacked on a token $5/m.t. traders say. European spot...
