North American Butadiene Contracts Soar

Butadiene contracts for the month of May settled at an increase of 20 cts-22 cts/lb in another split settlement that saw three producers settle at $1.41/lb while one producer settled at $1.45/lb.  The settlement represents a 16.5%-17.8% increase from April contracts, depending on the producer.  Meanwhile, spot butadiene has surged to over $1.70/lb, on strong demand and tight availability.
