Most olefin prices drift lower

Olefins searched in vain for support this week, players say. Despite a strong rally of $40/m.t. in naphtha in northwest Europe, spot olefins drifted lower by €10/m.t. ($13) for both ethylene and proplylene, players say. Continued weak downstream demand was blamed. Spot ethylene in the United States was up to 57–58 cts/lb del. Butane was also up to $1.25/gal, while ethane dropped to 28 cts/gal...
