January petchem contracts settled higher

In a quiet first week of trading for 2014, spot prices were reported to be mixed, but most January contracts were concluded higher, players say. Ethylene in northwest Europe was settled higher by a modest €15/m.t. ($21) while propylene was settled up by €20/m.t.
