European Olefins Pricing Inches Higher

Spot naphtha prices in northwest Europe ticked lower by $10/m.t. which improved margins for steam-cracker operators as olefins spot prices were reported continuing to rise. Ethylene added €50/m.t., sellers say, while propylene kept pace with a gain of €40/m.t. Butadiene notched an increase of $20/m.t. Market watchers say that tight supplies in polyolefins has enabled resin makers and converters downstream to sustain the higher olefin prices, but there is some question as to how long that condition can...
