European Olefins Down on Lower Hydrocarbon Prices

With little direction from primary hydrocarbons upstream, petrochemical prices last week mostly tightened their trading ranges with no trend. Spot naphtha in northwest Europe was higher by a token $5/m.t. European spot ethylene was the clear loss leader for the week, market watchers say, down  € 100/m.t. almost 10% on fears of slower growth on the Continent. Propylene held to declines of just  € 20-25/m.t. while butadiene was reported...
