Trends Vary in Intermediates

In fiber intermediates, the focus in North America was on contract settlements, while spot business prevailed in Europe, players say. The May contract was agreed with U.S. para-xylene done at an increase of 1.75 cts/lb. At the same time sellers say they have nominated wide ranging increases for June ortho-xylene of 1.5 to 5 cts/lb.
