Slow activity in intermediates

After the January settlements and a flurry of spot-market changes, traders in intermediates report that markets were quiet through the middle of the month. The US para-xylene (p-xylene) contract price, usually the last to be settled, was done higher by 4 cts/lb, while at about the same time both European p-xylene and ortho-xylene (o-xylene) February contracts were agreed higher, €15/m.t.
