Intermediates prices mostly down

It is early in the month for intermediates, but market watchers have reported a few developments. Late-month US para-xylene was delayed more than usual by the unsettled nature of Asian isomer markets, but the consensus March contract was down 6 cts/lb. At the same time, European ortho-xylene, which is usually the first to be settled, was done down by €15/m.t. ($21).
