Intermediates mostly higher

Sellers all but ran the table in both spot and contract markets for intermediates over the second half of September. The US ortho-xylene (oX) contract was settled higher by 3 cts/lb, while European para-xylene got a bump of €30/m.t. sellers say. Spot oX gained 2 cts/lb in North America and $60/m.t. in Europe, where spot para- spiked $200/m.t. on strong demand from Asia.
