Intermediates contracts still being settled

At midmonth only the usual three isomer xylenes contracts had been settled on either side of the Atlantic. Sellers of ortho-xylene in North America were able to capture 3 cts/lb, but European buyers prevailed in their negotations, driving the agreement down €10/m.t. Spot business was reported higher by 2 cts/gal on the US Gulf Coast, and $20/m.t. higher in Europe.
