Intermediates contracts settled

The last of the August contract settlements among intermediates fell into place as the month expired. Late-settling US para-xylene (pX) was agreed at an increase of 2.5 cts/lb, while spot pX rose $90/m.t., sources say. Both ethylene glycol and acrylonitrile in North America rose 2 cts/lb for August contracts. Spot acrylonitrile rode along for a gain of $100/m.t. according to market watchers.
