Market watchers note there are usually a few agreements that are not reached until the end of the month—often it is the the US para-xylene (pX) contract, but this time that was done with a gain of 1.5 cts/lb. European pX was agreed higher also, by €20/m.t. Ortho-xylene on the US Gulf was lower by 3 cts/lb, sources say. The other fibers precursors were also reported down in contract settlements.
