Intermediates Prices Fall in October

With a late month flurry, isomer xylenes traders say they concluded October business just in time to begin November discussions. The U.S. para-xylene contract was settled lower by 2.5 cts/lb, a disappointment to sellers who had nominated increases of that much and more. U.S. ortho-xylene October was agreed lower by just half a penny, but producers immediately nominated a November increase of 5 cts/lb.
