Intermediates Contracts Settle Higher

Intermediates markets might were all about para-xylene in the first half of February, with spot numbers soaring $300/m.t. on both sides of the Atlantic and initial agreements on the U.S. contract price rising 19 cts/lb. Ortho-xylene producers achieved their own increases, but not to the same degree. The U.S. contract prices was settled higher by 4 cts/lb, below the 7-9 cts/lb that producers had nominated. Spot ortho- in the U.S. gained a nickel, while spot oX in Europe was higher by $80/m.t., players say. The European contract for ethylene glycol was reported...
