![]() Intermediate spot markets are quiet11:28 AM MST | January 4, 2013 | Lindsay Frost It was a very quiet start of the year for intermediates markets, with the January contact settlements for major commodity petrochemicals only just having been settled. The only meaningful spot business reported was an attempt by acrylonitrile makers to increase prices $200/m.t. as a result of rising raw materials costs. In North America, buyers were said to accept about half that increase, or a little more. In Europe, only about $50 of the increase was immediately taken up.
