The contract is usually the last among the isomers to be settled, so the deal was thought to be an effort to keep more current. European p-xylene was done for February without complications for an increase of €15/m.t. ($20) North American ortho-xylene (o-xylene) was rolled from January, but European o-xylene was agreed at an increase of €40/m.t. There was considerable consternation in European ethylene...
