Intermediates contracts settle

All intermediates contracts were settled before the end of the month, a rare feat. US para-xylene (pX) was widely but not universally reported done down by 4 cts/lb, more than market watchers originally anticipated, but not as much as some buyers were seeking. That settlement caused spot pX which had been holding high, to tumble $130/m.t. European pX was settled lower by €97/m.t., and spot material eased lower $50/m.t. in accord.
