Intermediates Prices on the Upswing

Fiber intermediates were reported to be strong though the first half of March, players say. March ortho-xylene contracts were concluded for March with an increase of 2 cts/lb in North America and €70/m.t. in Europe. The European para-xylene contract was also settled, sporting an increase of €36/m.t., sellers report. Trailing the pack, as has become the norm, the U.S. pX March level has at least been nominated for a rise of 3 cts/lb, but had not been settled yet.
