Intermediates Markets Quiet

Intermediates markets were even more quiet than larger-volume commodity markets through the middle of the month, players report. The last November settlements were made with acrylonitrile in the U.S. being agreed at a decline of 5 cts/lb and European contracts done down an average of €35/m.t. The only notable spot market activity was in para-xylene, where prices were lower by about $70/m.t. in both North America and Europe.
