December benzene contracts on the U.S. Gulf Coast settled higher by 13 cts/gal, while mixed xylenes contracts rose 10 cts/gal. The quickness of the xylenes settlements indicates that traders were eager to be done with a very trying year, players say. Styrene contracts rolled over for November. In contrast, European styrene for December settled higher by €33/m.t. quickly after the benzene monthly agreement for an increase of €23/m.t.
